PMT was established in 1994. From its inception, the company has focused exclusively in the field of utility metering, evolving over the years into a niche-market leader in the field. We are a privately owned company situated in Midrand South Africa with approximately 60 employees. Customers have included the City of Ekurhuleni, PicknPay, Woolworths and SAB Miller.

Directors

Joe Ross: Managing Director

Joe Ross joined PMT as Managing Director in 1997. Joe holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa majoring in business economics and marketing. He has extensive experience in managerial finance, marketing and general management as well as a sound background in commercial procedure with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa.

Graeme Mellis: Engineering Director

Graeme Mellis holds a B. Eng. degree (Cum Laude) in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Johannesburg, a Masters Diploma in Technology from the Pretoria University of Technology. He is registered as a professional engineer and a professional energy manager.

Graeme started his professional career as a technician in training at Eskom in 1981 and finally as a senior engineer for metering in the Transmission Group before leaving Eskom to join PMT as a director in 1994.

Graeme has more than thirty years experience in electricity metering, metrology and energy management and is the author of a number of publications on the subject. He acts on various technical committees and subcommittees in the field of electricity metering, writing the first draft of the South African Code of Practice for electricity Metering in 2000 and serves on the South African IEC technical committee 13 working group involved with metering standards.
